Pursuit Wrestling: OAC Grade School State 2026

March 28–29, we took our Grade School wrestlers to the OAC Grade School State Tournament—and made history.

For the first time in Pursuit Wrestling history, we brought home three boys division state titles and a total of 11 wrestlers on the podium. 

Maddux Balawajder advanced to the finals for the third consecutive year and is now a two-time state champion.

Harper Wimmers went on an absolute mission throughout the tournament, putting together an outstanding performance to capture a state title in the boys division.

Bowen Gardner, a now four-time OAC state finalist, achieved a major milestone by finally claiming his long-awaited state championship.

Our ladies in the girls division also showed up strong with 3 State Placers: Makenna Brooks, Avery Martin, and Janessa Caivano.

We couldn’t be more proud of these athletes—their hard work, dedication, and perseverance truly paid off. This is a huge moment for our program, and just the beginning of what’s to come.
